Rapidly advancing technologies promise to revolutionize our 9-1-1 system, creating an urgent need for 9-1-1 professionals to be equipped with greater knowledge and enhanced skills. Unfortunately, most 9-1-1 centers simply do not have the resources necessary to meet this need.

Each year, Friends of 9-1-1 has awarded five people the Telecommunicator Continuing Education Scholarship to obtain the knowledge and training they need to serve the public better. Our goal is to increase that number tenfold in the next year.

This is where you come in. We are trying to raise $50,000 – enough to provide dozens of scholarships for 9-1-1 professionals who want to meet the challenges of the future head-on and provide the public with the best 9-1-1 service possible.

Will you help us reach that goal? We can only get there together.

The training I received taught me great new techniques and introduced me to many amazing 9-1-1 professionals. I’ll always be grateful for the experience afforded me through my Friends of 9-1-1 scholarship.
— Alexis Bone, Shawnee County Kansas Sheriff's Office, and 2015 scholarship recipient

If we all contribute $10 or more, we will hit our target! We appreciate any gift and truly believe no amount is too small. It is only through your support that we can make a difference. Your generosity will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you have made vital training opportunities available to members of our 9-1-1 community who wouldn’t otherwise have them.

Thank you for considering us this holiday season. We wish you a healthy and happy new year!
